Using Massage to Relieve Your Headaches
When you have a headache it is a condition of having mild to severe pain in your head. The upper back or neck can also get pained. Do you know what there are several types or headaches? Some of them come from the feeling of being over fatigued or over stressed. Some of them are caused because we stay too long in front of the computer.
Usually when we get headaches, we either get some sleep or rest or have of those over-the-counter pain relievers or aspirin to relieve the pain. What if you’re in school or working? You most certainly can’t sleep at those places, or else you may get in trouble and when you run out of aspirin, what will you do?
Do not fear, there are several ways to relieve headaches without sleeping or drinking medicine. A simple massage can do it. You can also add Vix Vapor Rub, Katinkco and all those menthol-like things you may put on your head. By massaging, you apply pressure to the soft tissues which have a psychological effect to relieve the ache. Massaging can also help improve circulation and even relieve tension. So, how do you do the massage?
There are four easy ways on how to use a massage to heal the headache and here they are:
1. Simply close your eyes and then put your finger to your eye which is above the cheekbones. Do a circular motion with your finger and gently do it for a minute.
2. Put your thumb under your eyebrows then feel where the bone meets the Nose Bridge and eyes. Press very gently and then do it four times for ten seconds.
3. The Neck Massage, I personally do not recommend this since you are going to massage by your spine. This may cause severe problems if done incorrectly, so do it at your own risk. Put you middle finger at the back of your head and gently massage for a few minutes in circular movements.
4. Put your palms on the top of your head and gently massage thru your scalp for a minute.
After doing any of these massages breathe in very deep and then breathe out. This is bound to relax your and lessen the pain in your head. If your head still feels very soar do consult a doctor or a nurse. This may be due to hypertension or any other disease that often causes headaches.
